Cranberry Media Center

The Scholastic Lights! Camera! Book Fair is coming to the Cranberry Elementary Media Center from April 13 - 17, 2009.  Hours will be 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. with the book fair closed daily from 12 - 12:30 p.m. for lunch.  Profits from the book fair are used to buy additional books and resources for the Media Center.  If you would like to volunteer, contact Mrs. Twedt at 941-480-3400. 

Media Center Schedule for 2008-2009.

Cranberry Elementary Classes come to the Media Center once a week for a 25 minute class this school year.  See schedule on Schedule Page.  Mrs. Twedt teaches a 10 - 15 minute lesson in media/library skills approximately twice per month followed by student book check-outs.  The other weeks, students can use the 25 minute time to browse for books, use the computers, check-out their books, use the Reference Section, or enjoy reading in the Media Center.  Book check-outs this year have been changed to:  Pre-K & Kindergarten = one book; First and Second Grade = two books; Third - Fifth Grade = 3 books.  Third - Fifth grade students who read three or more of the Sunshine State Young Reader's Award books between now and April can vote for their favorite book, March 16 - April 2, 2009.  These books are on a special cart in the Media Center and can also be found at the Public Libraries and local book stores.
